Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Repair@mnappliancerepair.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • With so many choices in the market of laundry soap, it can become a difficult task just adding the proper amount of soap to your washer.
  • You could be using more detergent than is necessary for the load size you are washing, causing soap build up inside the washer.  Here is an article we found online by Consumer Reports.
  • This can become a BIG problem!  It keeps building up and will damage components of the washer and will help cause mold and mildew as well.
  • Double check the detergent instructions and the manufacturer recommendations to ensure you are using the correct amount.  But, most of the time with HE detergent you only need about 1 to 2 tablespoons.  Here is a good article we found online by wikiHow

  • Black mold could be growing inside the tub and pipes of your washer, which could be why you are smelling a foul odor.
  • Even if you have been using the correct amount of soap, you may not have that odor yet, but given enough time, most machines will get that smell.
  • You can combat this issue with proper maintenance of your washer.  This is done by using a washing machine cleaner and "Clean Washer" cycle if your model has this mode.  If not, you can use the washer cleaner with the hottest and longest cycle available on the washing machine.
  •  Make sure to follow all directions on whatever washing machine cleaner you choose.  We recommend affresh

  • Check that the shipping bolts have been removed from the washing machine during installation. These are located at the back of the washer.
  • Make sure the washer is level by altering the feet at the front of the washer. Use the included spanner wrench to adjust these as well as a level.
  • Ensure there is space between the washer and the surrounding cabinets or walls.
  • You can look into using anti-vibration pads under the feet of the washing machine to limit the vibration and noise.
  • Unusual loads could cause the vibrations to be increased, such as, a pair of shoes or bulky items, such as bedding, rugs or comforters.  Always follow manufacturer recommendations for your specific model.
  • If your washer has suddenly started making more noise during standard use, we would recommend a visit from a service technician.  If washing machine repair service is needed, common parts to be repaired or replaced could be tub suspension rods, damper, wash plate pulsator or possible defective inner tub.
